Sunflower – Autumn Beauty
$2.50 – $22.00
Autumn Beauty is a blend of red, orange, and yellow sunflowers that all have black centers to them. The Autumn Beauty Sunflower grows up to 7 feet tall and offers blooms that are 10 inches in diameter. Sunflowers make good cut flowers, are drought tolerant, and require a lot of sun to grow. Birds often flock to sunflowers because they provide a substantial amount of food for them. Planting should be done in the spring, after the danger of frost is past. Some similarly tall varieties of sunflowers include: ‘Lemon Queen’ and ‘Velvet Queen’. The ‘Sunspot‘ variety is a much shorter, is yellow in-color, and stands between 2 and 3 feet tall. Seeding Rate is 3-8 lbs per acre if planting in rows for seed production. If you are wanting to broadcast plant this flower all over in an area you will need about 30 lbs per acre of seed.
