Northern Exposure Turf Mix

A mix of 3 cool season grasses that perform well, in the cooler climates of the north and central areas of North America, this mix will tolerate more shade and provide a finely textured turf that utilizes a rhizomatous root system to aid in self-repair.  Over time this will provide a lush, fullness to shaded lawns that may otherwise fail.

Ingredients: Fescue – Chewing’s, Fescue – Red Creeping Evergreen, Ryegrass – Perennial (Turf-Type)

Seeding rates:

• To sow a new turf lawn:  200 – 300 lb./acre
• To over-seed an existing lawn:  100 – 150 lb./acre

Less than one-acre rates:

32,670 sq. ft = 3/4 acre = 150 to 226 lbs for a new seeding/ 76 to 114 lbs for over-seeding

21,780 sq. ft = 1/2 acre = 100 to 150 lbs for a new seeding/ 50 to 76 lbs for over-seeding

10,890 sq. ft = 1/4 acre = 50 to 76 lbs for a new seeding/ 26 to 40 lbs for over-seeding

5,445 sq. ft = 1/8 acre = 26 to 40 lbs for a new seeding/ 14 to 20 lbs for over-seeding

2,722 sq. ft = 1/16 acre = 14 to 20 lbs  for a new seeding/ 8 to 10 lbs for over-seeding
