We sell many different varieties of Tall Fescue, depending on what our inventory holds. This Tall Fescue is for using for lawns or turf applications; not for animal forage. Tall Fescue works great in athletic fields and other areas that get a lot of traffic. This type of grass also grows a deeper tap root, once established which makes it a great drought tolerant type grass as well and tends to stay greener longer in the season than some of the other grass species. The blade on the grass is a bit wider on it than other species so it has a coarser look to it.
Seeding rates: (For reference there is 43,560 square feet in an acre)
- To sow a new turf lawn: 350 – 400 pounds per acre
- To over-seed an existing lawn: 175 – 200 pounds per acre
Less than 1 Acre:
32,670 sq. ft = 3/4 Acre = 262 -300 lbs for a new lawn/ 130 to 150 lbs for over-seeding
21,780 Sq. ft = 1/2 Acre = 175-200 lbs for a new lawn / 87 to 100 lbs for over-seeding
