Clover – White
$19.00 – $237.50Price range: $19.00 through $237.50
White Clover is a low-growing, fast-spreading perennial legume that is commonly used in pastures, lawns, and soil improvement projects. A member of the Fabaceae (pea) family, it is native to Europe and Central Asia but has become naturalized across North America and other temperate regions worldwide.
Well adapted to fine and medium-textured soils, White Clover thrives in moist, fertile environments with good drainage. While it prefers full sun, it can tolerate light to moderate shade, though heavy shade will reduce its vigor and flowering. It performs best in soils with high fertility and typically requires at least 24 inches of annual precipitation or supplemental irrigation to remain productive.
White Clover is capable of growing throughout much of the year in temperate climates, particularly in areas with mild winters. Its main flowering period occurs in late spring through early summer, when it produces small, white to pink-tinged flower heads that are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
As a nitrogen-fixing legume, White Clover contributes significantly to soil fertility, making it a popular choice for cover cropping, erosion control, and sustainable lawn mixes. It spreads by creeping stolons (above-ground runners), forming a dense, mat-like ground cover that helps suppress weeds and reduce soil erosion.
*We have different varieties of white clover depending on what is available. The current variety in stock is excellent for livestock in pasture use.
