Hairgrass – Slender
$2.50 – $164.30
Slender Hairgrass is a biennial or short-lived perennial bunchgrass that grows in a wide range of habitats. It will grow in anything from dry ranges to moist wetlands. It is a native grass that can be found between Alaska and Mexico, in the Western United States, and even further south into parts of Argentina and Chile. Plant this grass in an area that gets full sun or partial shade and in soil that is either fine, medium, or coarse in texture. Native seed takes longer to get out of the ground and typically needs cold weather to help initiate germination. Some may take up to 3 years to fully establish themselves. Can grow up to be around 3 ft tall when fully mature. Remains shorter growing most of the year.
