Bachelor Button – Dwarf Blue
$2.50 – $21.60
The Bachelor Button prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is a resilient annual flower and can be fall planted in zones 7-10. This flower will have better success if started outdoors, although it can typically survive if started indoors. The Bachelor Button is one of the easiest flowers to start from seed and makes an excellent cut flower. This dwarf variety is a nice compact short variety with closer together blooms.
SPECIAL NOTE: Bachelor Buttons are monitored in Washington State and prohibited in North Carolina. They are an invasive species in West Virginia, Georgia and Eastern Oregon. If you are concerned with this species in your area ways you can still enjoy them would be to cut them regularly when blooming for bouquets to enjoy. You can also cut the flower heads that are done blooming and ‘dead head’ them so they don’t set seed. Regular harvesting of them can keep them in check. Monitor them to keep them from spreading beyond where you want them in these areas. ***It is always best to check with the US Department of Agriculture’s invasive species list for your state before planting any flowers.
