Larkspur – Rocket Light Blue

Rocket Larkspur is a graceful annual flower native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. This light blue variety produces tall, airy spires covered in soft sky-blue blooms that bring a cool, soothing brightness to the garden. The finely divided, lacy foliage adds a delicate texture beneath the upright flower stalks, which can reach two to four feet in height. Its soft color blends beautifully with pinks, whites, and lavenders, making it a favorite in cottage gardens, borders, and cut-flower arrangements.

Light Blue Rocket Larkspur is especially valued for its long, elegant stems and abundant, densely packed blossoms — perfect for cutting. The flowers hold their color well both fresh and dried, adding a gentle pastel tone to bouquets and floral designs.

Larkspur prefers cool weather for sprouting and may fail to germinate in warm soil.

Plant in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil with moderate moisture. Once established, it requires little care but does not tolerate soggy conditions. Blooming begins in late spring and continues through summer, and with staggered plantings, flowering can last into early fall. Because this annual develops a long taproot, it should be direct-sown where it will grow rather than transplanted once seedlings appear.
