Poppy – California White

The California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is a classic western wildflower admired for its ability to thrive in full sun, dry conditions, and fast-draining soils. Like all members of the species, the white variety performs best when sown directly outdoors, as it does not tolerate transplanting. In warmer regions it may act as a short-lived perennial, but in colder climates it is generally grown as an annual due to its sensitivity to frost.
