Daisy – Painted Mix

The Painted Daisy is a colorful and easy-to-grow flowering plant, believed to be native to regions of central Asia, though often associated with Mediterranean climates, including Morocco. It is widely cultivated for its brilliant, daisy-like blooms, which appear in vibrant shades of pink, red, rose, white, and yellow—often with golden or dark centers.

This hardy plant is well-adapted to a wide range of climates and can grow in USDA Zones 3–11, though it performs best in cooler summer regions, such as those found along the Pacific Coast. In hot and humid climates, it may experience reduced flowering.

Painted Daisies thrive in full sun to partial shade and prefer well-drained soil with moderate watering. They are tolerant of low moisture once established, making them a relatively drought-resistant choice for garden borders or containers. Starting them indoors is an excellent way to get a jump on the growing season, especially in colder areas.

These flowers make outstanding cut flowers, with long-lasting blooms that add cheerful color to arrangements. Additionally, Painted Daisies are known for their natural pest-repelling properties, as the plant contains pyrethrum, a compound used in natural insecticides. While this may help deter some pests in the garden, the plant is non-toxic to humans and pets when handled properly.

Painted Daisies are typically grown as short-lived perennials or annuals, depending on your climate. They rarely suffer from serious disease or pest issues, making them a low-maintenance, high-impact addition to ornamental gardens.
