A uniquely balanced mix of palatable forage grasses that provide an elevated amount of nutrients to livestock, while also enhancing the fertility of pasture soils, the Hay Seed Pasture King requires more maintenance, but will produce a higher quality growth. It is best suited to provide valuable, balanced feed for grazing livestock. Harvesting it for hay could be difficult, due to its uncommonly high moisture content. In locations that observe drier climate conditions, this mix may require irrigation to produce optimum results, but this highly fertile pasture crop may make the extra work worth it.
Ingredients: Orchardgrass, Timothy, Fescue – Tall (Forage-Type), Ryegrass – Perennial (Forage-Type), Ryegrass – Annual, Clover – Crimson
*Note: Ingredients may vary depending on seed availability.
Seeding Rate is 20 lbs per acre if using a seed drill to plant with in rows. If broadcasting seed by hand or with a broadcast spreader you will need 2 to 2.5 times more seed than the drill rate which is 40-50 lbs per acre.
The best time to plant is when the soil temperatures are between 50 and 65 degrees F. These soil temperatures usually occur when the daytime air temperatures are between 60-75 degrees F.
